KOAHNIC BROADCAST CORPORATION LAUNCHES 30TH ANNUAL NATIVE ALASKA ART AUCTION
ANCHORAGE, AK — March 24, 2026 — Koahnic Broadcast Corporation is proud to announce the launch of its 30th Annual Native Alaska Art Auction, a milestone fundraising event supporting Indigenous public broadcasting and celebrating the rich artistic traditions of Alaska Native creators.
Running through the spring, the landmark auction features an extraordinary collection of authentic, hand-crafted works donated by renowned and emerging Alaska Native artists from across the state. Bidders will have the opportunity to acquire unique pieces including traditional ivory and baleen carvings, beaded regalia, spruce root and grass baskets, silver jewelry, prints, and contemporary fine art.
"Reaching our 30th annual art auction is a powerful testament to the enduring relationship between Koahnic and Alaska’s vibrant Indigenous artistic community," said Jaclyn Sallee, President and CEO of Koahnic. "For three decades, artists have generously contributed their work to sustain Native media, and in turn, our broadcasts help amplify Native culture and arts nationwide. We invite supporters near and far to participate in this special anniversary event."
Proceeds from the auction directly benefit Koahnic’s broadcasting operations, including KNBA 90.3 FM in Anchorage, as well as national news and cultural programs such as National Native News, Native America Calling, and Indigefi.
Bidding is conducted online, allowing art collectors and public broadcasting supporters across Alaska and the United States to participate.
